I hadn't read any before (my SF&F reading is a bit narrow and patchy) but I knew Neil Gaiman had put a couple of forewords to Ellison in The View from the Cheap Seats so I picked up Deathbird Stories. Then I put it down again. Then I looked at Ellison's website, read some shite about being too rude to write for Disney, closed it again. So gross and yet so tedious.
